Security Team Was Heartbroken To Discover A Furry Family Tethered To A Sign At The Shelter’s Driveway

One cold morning, a mama dog felt powerless after she was dumped and tethered to a sign at the end of the shelter’s driveway.

She was scared and worried that something would happen to her four little furbabies who kept trembling with cold.

The puppies buried their faces in their mother’s arms, seeking comfort and warmth.

The mama dog rested her head on the cold ground while wrapping herself around her pups and trying to keep them warm.

She desperately hoped that someone would jump to their aid and bring them to a warm and safe place.

As soon as the security team at Kloof and Highway SPCA saw that a furry creature was tethered in the driveway, they informed Inspector Kerrie Andrews.

The giant-hearted woman assumed that it was a dog who needed assistance, so she rushed to their aid.

Once Inspector Andrews arrived at the scene, her heart sank. The sight was far more sorrowful than she imagined it to be.

A malnourished mother dog and her little babies huddled together as they were lying on the ground.

The giant-hearted woman noticed that the mother was the only one who was tied up.

Luckily, her babies stayed by her side.

Inspector Andrews hoped to get the canine family inside the shelter as soon as possible.

Having realized that the mama dog was distrustful and protective of her babies, the good woman started working on gaining her trust.

The giant-hearted human was extremely patient to her, and she talked to her in a soft voice.

Luckily, she succeeded in easing the mother’s worries and winning her over.

“Mom was nervous and did not trust Inspector Andrews, but with a bit of gentle talking and patience, she soon realized that she was safe. The puppies were just happy to be with their mom and out of the cold,” Brigitte Ferguson, a marketing assistant at Kloof and Highway SPCA, told The Dodo.
